Drink Spiking Safety
What is Drink Spiking?
- When drugs are added to a beverage to impair the person consuming the drink
Possible Symptoms:
- Difficulty breathing
- Notable increase or decrease in heart rate
- Passing out
- Visual impairment
- Loss of memory
- Loss of balance
- Confusion
Safety Measures:
- Do NOT leave your drink unattended
- Do not drink from a common source (jungle juice, borg, etc.)
- Go out/stay with a group!
NARCAN Nasal Spray
NARCAN Nasal Spray (naloxone hydrochloride) is used to treat known or suspected opioid overdose. It is for use in the nose ONLY. Do not test or remove NARCAN Nasal Spray until ready to use. It can be used safely in adults and children.
- Identify Opioid Overdose and Check for Response
- Give NARCAN Nasal Spray
- Call for Emergency Medical Help, Evaluate, and Support
If the person does not respond after one dose, another dose may be given. NARCAN Nasal Spray may be dosed every two to three minutes, if available.
