Substance Misuse Education
Choices Curriculum Overview
In a comfortable and non-confrontational setting, you and your peers will have the opportunity to explore drinking patterns, related attitudes about alcohol, and motivation to change consumption. Using a harm reduction approach, we will discuss accurate information about alcohol so you can make informed decisions concerning your own use. The biology of alcohol (blood alcohol effects and tolerance) and the significant differences between women and men in regards to consumption will be discussed. Personal risk factors and identifying high-risk drinking situations will be examined in the context of developing strategies to reduce risk and attain healthy lifestyle balance.
