Scan Microfilm/fiche to a computer using QuickScan

warning

The Scanner must be turned on during the boot sequence (e.g. when turn the computer on or restart) If you try to scan and it say "can't find a scanner" or the "New Batch" button is grayed out, restart the computer and make sure the scanner is turned on.

when turning the computer on (or restart) make sure the ms400 scanner is turned on (after the computer boots up, the scanner can be turned off)
before starting the QuickScan app, make sure the scanner is on
load the film and have whatever you want to scan displays on the scanner screen
In QuickScan App
click New Batch
select "Scan Microfilm to PDF" (or JPEG) and click "Scan"
it will start scanning the first page
a dialog will pop up asking to if you want to scan more or stop
if you just want to scan one page, click stop
if you want scan more
move the film / fiche so an image of the next page is on the scanner screen
click "continue"
rinse and repeat
once you're done, click "stop"
you file will be automatically saved to e:\my scanned\
File name = Microform_scan_mmddyy-hhmm.pdf (Microform_scan_122416-2230.pdf for stuff you scanned on Dec 24, 2016 at 10:30 PM)
- if you select "scan to jpeg" it'll create multiple files "Microform_scan_122416-2230_page#.jpg"
do whatever you want with that file e.g.
- plug in a thumb drive and save it into
- open up Firefox, login to your email and email the file to yourself
- open the file up in a pdf reader and print to WEPA
the files inside the folder e:\my scanned\ that's older than 7 days will be deleted automatically every night
