Guide to Using OneDrive for WEPA Printing

Guide to Using OneDrive for WEPA Printing

Action required: Move your WEPA print documents from Google Docs to Microsoft OneDrive (included with your University-provided Microsoft 365). This guide shows you how to sign in and where to store files so they print reliably with WEPA.

Why switch to OneDrive for WEPA printing

  • Better compatibility: OneDrive and Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) produce print-ready files that align with WEPA drivers.

  • Included with your University account: No extra purchase needed.

  • Automatic versioning and recovery: Easily restore earlier versions if needed.

  • Seamless sign-in on WEPA kiosks: Access OneDrive directly at print stations.

What you need before you start

  • Your University email and password.

  • An internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).

Step 1 — Sign in to Microsoft 365

  1. Open the Microsoft 365 portal: http://portal.office.com

  2. Enter your University email address (example: name@university.edu) and complete sign-in.

Step 2 — Open OneDrive

  1. From the Microsoft 365 app launcher (grid icon), select OneDrive.

  2. In OneDrive, create a folder named “WEPA Prints” to keep all print-ready files together.

Tip: Keep your WEPA files in Word (.docx) or PowerPoint (.pptx) for the most reliable results. If your layout is final, you can also save as PDF.

Step 3 — Move your existing Google Docs files

  1. In Google Drive, open each Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide you need to print.

  2. Download a Microsoft-compatible copy:

  3. Docs: File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx)

  4. Slides: File > Download > Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx)

  5. Sheets: File > Download > Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)

  6. Return to OneDrive and upload those files into your “WEPA Prints” folder.

Step 4 — Print from a WEPA kiosk using OneDrive

  1. Go to a WEPA print station and choose to print from cloud storage.

  2. Select OneDrive and sign in with your University credentials if prompted.

  3. Open your “WEPA Prints” folder and select the file to print.

Best practices for trouble-free printing

  • Use standard fonts (e.g., Calibri, Arial) to avoid substitutions.

  • Check page size and margins before uploading (Letter size for most assignments).

  • If a document’s layout is critical, export to PDF from Word/PowerPoint and print the PDF.
