Manage Your Student Gmail

All Fairfield University students are provided with a student Gmail account (netid@student.fairfield.edu). Faculty may request a student Gmail account by contacting the ITS Help Desk and providing a reason.

Sign into Gmail on Mobile

You can set up Gmail on your mobile device using the Gmail app. For up-to-date instructions, visit Google Help:

Please note that after entering your email (netid@student.fairfield.edu), you should be redirected to the NetID log in. On this screen, log in with your NetID and password. If necessary, remove @student.fairfield.edu from the username field.

Sign into Gmail using Apple Mail or Outlook

If you are already using Apple Mail or Outlook apps on either your computer or mobile device, you can manage all of your accounts in one place.

For up-to-date instructions, visit Google Help: Set up Gmail with a third-party email client.

Please be aware that Apple Mail and Outlook for Gmail are not ITS supported applications and that assistance/support is limited.

Automatically forward Gmail messages to another account

You can choose to forward all of your new messages to another email address, or only forward certain types of messages. This is highly recommended for faculty who also have a student email account and want to manage all of their emails in one place.

For up-to-date instructions, visit Google Help: Automatically forward Gmail messages to another account.

Send emails from a different address or alias

If you own another email address, you can send mail as that address. For example:

Tip: You can send emails from up to 99 different email addresses.

For up-to-date instructions, visit Google Help: Send emails from a different address or alias.

Contact the ITS Help Desk in the Library Room 230 or at (203) 254-4069 for assistance.
