Blackboard Known Issues
This page serves as a centralized resource for tracking known issues related to Blackboard that directly impact our faculty and students, ensuring timely updates and effective communication regarding any challenges faced within the platform.
Resolved issues will be removed at the end of the semester.
Assignment PDF Viewer is small
When grading Peer Review assignments or Group Assignments, the assignment opens up in a small PDF viewer and there is not a way to make it bigger. Blackboard is aware of this issue and working on a fix in a future update.

Blackboard Course Copy Wheel Spinning
Currently, when trying to copy content into your Blackboard Ultra course you may see a purple wheel continuously spinning at the bottom of the content page. Content copy may have failed. Blackboard is aware and investigating.

Kaltura Videos “Spinning” in Chrome and Edge
Despite enabling third-party cookies, videos will not play in Edge (Windows) or Chrome (MacOS or Windows). Users are encouraged to use the Blackboard mobile app, Safari, or Firefox.
Status: Resolved
Ultra Course Users Cannot Send Course Messages From the Content Tab
Users are getting an error when selecting the message icon next to the Instructor’s name on the Content Stream. Currently, the workaround is to use the "Messages" tab in the Ultra Course, and then select the receiver to send the message to. We hope the fix will be available in one of the upcoming releases.
Resolved - McGraw Hill Connect Assignment Sync Failing
Instructors are able to connect McGraw Hill to Blackboard, but assessments are not syncing with Blackboard’s grade book.
Resolved - Kaltura Videos Load Blank Page
When students and faculty load a Kaltura video, the result is a blank page or space where the video should be. This is due to the video referencing a playerID that is no longer supported as of January 1, 2025. ITS was aware that the video player would be retired and updated the players from the administrative side in September 2024. Videos embedded after this date are not affected. While we took steps to migrate the older players over, we were unsuccessful and are working with Kaltura Support to resolve this as quickly as possible.
