Getting Students Started

• We recommend creating a practice test in Blackboard for students to confirm that they’re able to download and use LockDown Browser successfully.

• Ask students to download LockDown Browser: Distribute this URL to students via email or by posting the link directly in your Blackboard course: http://www.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?id=998146388

Enable Respondus LockDown Browser

1. Open the test

2. Open the Settings Panel for the test

3. Under Assessment Security, select Lockdown Browser Dashboard

   Note
   The first time you launch Respondus LockDown Browser Dashboard from a Blackboard Ultra Course, you will need to allow the Learn Authorization.

   
   

4. Next click the dropdown menu next to the test and select Settings.

5. Select the radio button next to Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam.

6. Setting a password is optional.

   Info
   When turning on Respondus LockDown Browser, a password will automatically populate in this field. Students do not need to know the password as it automatically passes over when they begin the test after opening the LockDown Browser.

7. Then click Save and Close. It is now necessary for students to access the test through LockDown Browser, which should already be installed on their computer.
