Setting Up Outlook

2019 to Connect to an @fairfield.edu Mail Account

 The following procedure describes the simple steps to setting up an Outlook profile from any location with Internet access.

  1. Open Outlook

  1. If you’ve never launched the program before, you will see an introductory splash screen to Add an Account, click Exchange.

  2. If you have already launched Outlook, you will see a different start screen. Click Outlook on the Menu Bar, then Preferences, then Accounts.

  3. Click Add Email Account.
  4. 2019
    1. Upon on launching outlook for the first time you will have the below screen, enter you Fairfield email addressImage Added
    2. Upon clicking continue you will receive the following message, saying " Exchange accounts are not supported yet", click on Revert Image Added
    3. Provide your Fairfield email again and select continue.

  5. In the window that appears below, enter the following information:

Method: User Name and Password

E-mail address: <your NetID@fairfield.edu email address> or <ResourceAccount@fairfield.edu email address>

Domain\Username :

ffldu\

<Your NetID>

Password: <your NetID password>

Server: owa.fairfield.edu (Optional)

3.Click the Add Account button and wait for your configuration to complete (this could take up to a minute or two). You can click done or you can click on add another account if you want to add a resource account. 

For resource account password is same as your NetID password

4.If you have to set up a resource account from outlook application, please go to Outlook, choose

settings.  Then click on the General icon.

  • Under sidebar select Show all mail account folders checkbox

    settings> accounts. A new window opens up, on the bottom left you can see an plus(+) icon. Select add account and enter the resource account email address.  For resource account  username is your NetID and password is same as your NetID password
