The following procedure describes the simple steps to setting up an Outlook profile from any location with Internet access.
Open Outlook

If you’ve never launched the program before, you will see an introductory splash screen to Add an Account, click Exchange.
If you have already launched Outlook, you will see a different start screen, click Exchange.

Upon launching outlook for the first time you will have the below screen, enter your Fairfield email address
Upon clicking continue you will receive the following message, saying " Exchange accounts are not supported yet", click on Revert.
Provide your Fairfield email again and select continue.
In the window that appears below, enter the following information:
Method: User Name and Password
E-mail address: <your NetID@fairfield.edu email address> or <ResourceAccount@fairfield.edu email address>

Method: User Name and Password

Domain\Username : ffldu\<Your NetID>
Password: <your NetID password>
Make sure the Configure automatically box is checked.

Server: owa.fairfield.edu

Click the Add Account button and wait for your configuration to complete (this could take up to a minute or two).

Please wait till the Email Account has a Green light next to it. This will indicate that the account has been connected successfully.

You can click done or click on add another account if you want to add a resource account.
If you have to set up a resource account from the Outlook application, please go to Outlook

settings> accounts. A new window opens up, on the bottom left you can see a plus (+) icon. Select Add Account and enter the resource account email address. For the resource account, the username is your NetID and the password is the same as your NetID password
You MUST set up the Directory for each account (please check even if the MS user database was transferred from another computer).
Outlook—>Settings—>Accounts—>Advanced
Change the Directory Service to: vmw00216.univ.fairfield.edu
Check the “Use SSL to connect (recommended)”, and leave “Log in with my Exchange account credentials" checked also.
