Please use the guides below to help you use Banner 9 and Workflow.
Important Notes
- The best browser to use for Banner 9 and Workflow is Chrome. Internet Explorer is no longer compatible with either system.
- VPN is required in order to access both systems if you are off-campus. Click HERE for VPN instructions.
- For VPN, Banner, or Workflow issues, please contact the Help Desk at (203) 254-4069 or submit a ticket via my.Fairfield (search: tickets, click on the ITS Ticketing System task). It is best to include as much detail as possible (including screenshots) in your ticket.
- Please allow pop-up blockers so that both Banner 9 and Workflow will operate properly. If they are not allowed, the data from Banner jobs/reports will not display and Banner forms will not open within a Workflow.
Banner Access Request Process
- Complete the Banner Data Access Request form with your and your supervisor's information.
- Enter the form(s) (ie SPAIDEN, SGASTDN, SFAREGS, etc.) or Classes that you need access to and note (M) maintenance or (Q) query for each form. Or, if you need the exact same access as another member of your team, Please note that in the "Form/Class/Workflow" column, along with their name and Fairfield ID#.
Data Owners:- Student forms (academics, grades, schedules, academic holds, other student data reports/jobs - Registrar
- Financial Aid Holds - Financial Aid
- Student Account Holds - Bursar
- Undergraduate Admissions - Aileen Murray
- Graduate Admissions - Sharon Clark, Melanie Rogers
- Housing/Meals - Charlie Sousa, Meredith Smith
- Health, Judicial - Mike Tortora
- Parking - Frank Ficko, Mike Tortora, Carla Bucherati
- Send the completed form to the Data Owner for their approval. The Data Owner will complete the form and send it back to you. If your access is not approved, it is suggested you contact the Data Owner for more information.
- Submit a ticket via my.Fairfield and attach the completed/approved Banner Data Access Form. Please note in the "Ticket Summary" - Banner Access Request. This will help the Help Desk route the ticket properly to the Enterprise Computing Team.
- Banner access requests are typically processed within 1-2 business days. The submitter will be notified via the ticketing system if there is additional information needed or that it has been completed.
Workflow Access Request Process
If access is needed for a new user, supervisor approval is required for ITS to grant access to Workflow.
It is preferred that the supervisor submit a ticket via in my.Fairfield with their approval. This approval should outline which Workflows the new user needs. If the supervisor is unable to submit the ticket, the new user or a department staff member can submit a ticket, but it must include the supervisor’s approval. The request requires the following information for the new user:
Name
Fairfield ID#
Workflow Types (Grade Change, Readmit, Withdrawal, Study Abroad)
