Counseling & Psychological Services (C&PS)
Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management
February 2023: C&PS does not currently offer psychiatric medication-management services. Please schedule an appointment at C&PS in the event that you would like to discuss community-based referral options.
Students engaged in therapy can talk with their C&PS therapist if they are interested in psychotropic medication as a part of the student's care. Where appropriate, a C&PS therapist can refer a willing student to meet with our psychiatric provider for an evaluation to discuss medication and whether it might be an appropriate and beneficial component to the student's care. Appointments for psychiatric care are offered at no additional cost to enrolled students.
Students appropriate for psychotropic medication would present with signs and symptoms that meet DSM-5 criteria and which impact the student's functioning. Psychiatric services are reserved for students concurrently engaged in therapy at C&PS. Please note that C&PS does not provide evaluations for ADHD and does not prescribe stimulant medication. Students who are not interested in concurrent, coordinated treatment, or who are otherwise ineligible for psychiatric services at C&PS, will be provided with a list of referrals to community providers.
