What is Global Protect?

Global Protect is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) which allows offsite users to access Fairfield University resources as if they were physically onsite.  Once connected to the VPN, offsite users can access Augustus file shares, use Remote Desktop to connect to an office workstation, or use Internet Native Banner.

Is Global Protect similar to Juniper Network Connect?

Global Protect is the VPN solution that is replacing the older, Juniper Network Connect.  Juniper Network Connect will be retired in the Fall of 2014.

Who can use Global Protect?

All Faculty and Staff can use Global Protect,  Consultants and vendors may request Global Protect access if needed. Global Protect is not accessible for students. 

What devices are supported through Global Protect?

Global Protect is available for Windows, Mac OSX, Android, and iOS.  Installation and usage documentation is available through this wiki.  Linux support will be available in the future.

Please Note: Global Protect is only available for offsite users. If you are onsite and connected either via a network cable or wireless connection to a Fairfield University network, you will not be able to use Global Protect.
