Subject: Email Limits: Resource Accounts Available
Good morning Deans,
Since ITS has implemented the email recipient limits,
...
the University has successfully avoided thousands of unauthorized messages exiting fairfield.edu
...
.
...
These email limits, however have restricted student-facing communications from within our schools and colleges. After
...
conversations across ITS and Marketing
...
. a solution was identified. ITS can create an Email Resource Account or use a pre-existing resource account for each school interested in communicating via email with more than 100 students per hour. Example, Engineering Communication engineeringcomm@fairfield.edu (similar to the University Announcements announce@fairfield.edu account).
...
ITS needs a formal request and a specific individual within your school to act as the resource account
...
manager. To submit the request, please submit a ticket to itshelpesk@fairfield.edu.
Email recipient limits will be lifted for this small number of resource accounts. Our Network Team says that historically these accounts are not compromised as odd incoming emails stand-out more so than in personal email accounts
...
.
Full instructions on how to use/manage a resource account will be delivered with the account.
...
A special thanks goes to Ryan and Mark for helping define the problem and conceptualize a workable solution. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
