Overview of Printing

  • Network Printers vs Local Printers.
    • Network printers are printers that can be accessed by multiple people over the network.
    • Local printers are printers connected to a single person's computer.
  • Network printers are only accessible via the FACSTAFF-S wireless and the FACSTAFF wired networks.
  • The name of printers are determined by the location and model of the printer.
  • For Windows, printers must be setup by accessing \\hermes64. For Mac OS X, printers must be setup via the IP address.
  • Non-university computers should not be used to connect to network printers.
  • Canon multi-function printers/copiers are managed by Ryan Business Systems. Please contact them regarding issues for the Canon Copiers.
