Apple released its operating system (macOS Monterey) for Apple computers last fall. ITS has reviewed this operating system and is recommending that users upgrade.
As always, please back-up all important data prior to upgrading and check for specific application compatibility
If your Mac is not compatible with Sonoma macOS (does not show as an option in Software Update) please upgrade to the latest macOS your system is compatible with.
For best security ITS recommends updating to the latest OS your device is compatible with.
SPSS users: Current SPSS versions are not compatible, use Apporto for SPSS.
Monterey Note for users:
For some apps you may see a Notifications popup with a crosshatch (prohibitory symbol) through the icon. This is a known issue and is generally cosmetic. Notifications for the app should still work as expected (they do for all the default apps we install).
