The mission of Academic Computing is to plan, develop, implement, maintain, and manage in a cost-effective manner those information technologies and resources necessary to facilitate the teaching and learning process among faculty and students.
The Academic Computing department provides a broad range of software support to the faculty of Fairfield University. Assistance is available for individual instructors who wish to explore ways to incorporate technology into their classes. Software vetting, training (fundamentals and best practices), and support, application integration, course management systems and the use of iPads are just some of the services the Academic Computing staff provide.

FAQS
My courses aren't visible in Blackboard.
Courses and enrollments populate in Blackboard 2 times a day. If your registration and payments were processed today, please wait at least 12 hours for the next update to process.
I can see my course in Blackboard, but I'm unable to access it. It says it's private.
All courses are unavailable to students by default to allow faculty to upload course content before the semester starts while enrollments may still be changing. Some faculty do not use Blackboard beyond sharing the syllabus, or they may email you directly with information on accessing courses materials. If you believe you should have access to the course in Blackboard, please contact your instructor requesting that they make the course available.
I am having trouble connecting with my publisher content (Pearson, Cengage, etc.)
Academic Computing manages the connection to publisher content through Blackboard, but student accounts are generally created through the publisher directly. In most cases, you will need to purchase an access code and follow the instructions provided by your instructor/the book store. If you are still unable to gain access, we recommend you work directly with the
bookstore first. If the bookstore, publisher and your instructor are unable to resolve the issue, you may email academiccomputing@fairfield.edu and we will do our best to assist.
