Connecting to Classroom C Configuration
These classrooms have a control panel with an on/off, laptop, Apple TV, VGA and volume controls. The classrooms may be outfitted with 1 or 2 TVs or projectors.

Connecting with HDMI
While AirParrot and AirPlay facilitate both your computer's visuals and sound, you should not use it to show lengthy videos. Connecting your computer to an HDMI cable is the most reliable way to display videos. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at x4069 or itshelpdesk@fairfield.edu if you need an adapter for connecting your computer to classroom cables.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the HDMI/Laptop button to set the TV source to the HDMI connection.
Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop.
Allow a few seconds for your laptop to connect to the screen(s).
Wireless Projection (AirPlay and AirParrot)
Fairfield University's classroom televisions and projectors are equipped with Apple TVs, which allow you to mirror your device's screen via AirPlay or AirParrot.
In order to proceed, your computer must be registered to the FacStaff-S or Student-S Wifi (not Guest). For assistance with Wi-Fi registration, please contact the ITS Help Desk at x4069 or itshelpdesk@fairfield.edu.
Connecting with AirParrot (Windows)
AirParrot is an application that allows you to wirelessly mirror your computer's screen to Fairfield's classroom Apple TVs via AirPlay.
AirParrot is licensed by the Fairfield University ITS Help Desk. You will need to visit or contact the Help Desk (x4069 or itshelpdesk.fairfield.edu) to obtain your personalized license key.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Apple TV button to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On your computer, open AirParrot from your system tray or Start Menu.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Type the Apple TV’s name in AirParrot’s To field exactly how it is shown on the television. (example: dlc203tv.fairfield.edu)
Choose Connect
Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.
Disconnecting from AirParrot
When you are finished using the Apple TV, it is important to manually disconnect your computer. Properly disconnecting avoids issues for both your computer and other users the next time the Apple TV is used.
Open AirParrot by clicking the AirParrot icon on your System Tray.
In AirParrot, select the Power Button.
Connecting with AirPlay on Mac
These guides show how to connect to and disconnect from an Apple TV using AirPlay on your Mac or iOS device.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Apple TV button to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Open the Control Center in the System Menu and choose Screen Mirroring
Choose the Apple TV, identified in Step 3, on your laptop
Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.

Open the Control Center and select Screen Mirroring
Click on the connected Apple TV to disconnect
Connecting with AirPlay on iPad or iPhone
Press the on button to turn the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Apple TV button to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Open the Control Center in the System Menu and choose Screen Mirroring
on iPads: Place one finger on the top right corner of the iPad, near the battery and Wifi symbols, and swipe down
on iPhone: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone
Choose the Apple TV, identified in Step 3, on your laptop.
If you don't see the Apple TV, use your finger to scroll through the options.Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.

Open the Control Center and choose Screen Mirroring
on iPads: Place one finger on the top right corner of the iPad, near the battery and Wifi symbols, and swipe down
on iPhone: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone
Tap Stop Mirroring
