Connecting to Classrooms with Zoom Room Configurations
These classrooms have a unique configuration to support Zoom Rooms as well as general classroom use.

Zoom Room
Press the on button to turn the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Sync button once to set the TV source to the Zoom Room.
Start the Meeting
Locate the black Zoom touchscreen control panel on the wall
Click “New Meeting” to start the Zoom Room
Adjusting the Cameras
Look at the TVs and confirm the cameras are focusing on the correct portion of the classroom. If no adjustments need to be made, skip to Step 7.
On the Zoom Controller, select Camera Control
Select the camera you wish to adjust from the dropdown menu
Check the Camera Mode. If it is not already selected, choose Manual
Select the preset you wish to use:
Wide: Displays the entire classroom. Note that some seating may need to be adjusted to fit within the camera view depending on the classroom set up.
Podium: Zooms in on the podium to capture the instructor.
After the cameras have been corrected, continue to step 7.
Tap View
If it is not already set, choose Gallery
Scroll down and select the option to Hide Self View
Inviting Participants
On the Zoom Controller, select Invite
Tap Contacts to collapse that menu. You should now see Zoom Rooms. Tap the Zoom Rooms you wish to join your meeting. Class Zoom Rooms are labeled by Campus and Room Number.
The invited rooms will see an invitation to join the meeting on their own Zoom control panel. Once they click Join the Meeting, they will be able to see and hear everyone who is on the call.
Recording
On the Zoom Controller, tap Record
Enter your email address. A link to the recording will be emailed to you after the recording is processed.
Share Screen
On the Zoom Controller, tap Share Content
A code will display on the TV.
On the device you plan to share content from, open the Zoom app (instructions for opening the app can be found on Installing/Updating Zoom on a Personal Windows or Mac Computers )
If you are not already signed in, choose Sign In with SSO
Select Share Screen and enter the code mentioned in step 2.
Your content, including device audio, will now be shared with the Zoom Room.
It is recommended that the participating Zoom Rooms change their View to Multi-Speaker View. This will allow the second and back displays to showcase the lecturer.
Troubleshooting Sound
If there is any trouble with the audio, check the settings on the Zoom Room controller.
On the Zoom Room controller, open settings in the top right
If any of the following settings are different, tap on it to change the selection:
Microphone: Built-in Microphone
Speaker: Built-in Speaker
Camera: Built-in Main Camera
General Classroom Use
Connecting with HDMI
While AirParrot and AirPlay facilitate both your computer's visuals and sound, you should not use it to show lengthy videos. Connecting your computer to an HDMI cable is the most reliable way to display videos. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at x4069 or itshelpdesk@fairfield.edu if you need an adapter for connecting your computer to classroom cables.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Press the Comp button to set the TV source to the HDMI connection.
You may seem the Zoom Room screen. Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop.
Once connected, your laptop should be mirrored on the TVs instead of the Zoom Room.
Allow a few seconds for your laptop to connect to the screen(s).
Wireless Projection (AirPlay and AirParrot)
Fairfield University's classroom televisions and projectors are equipped with Apple TVs, which allow you to mirror your device's screen via AirPlay or AirParrot.
In order to proceed, your computer must be registered to the FacStaff or Student Wifi (not Guest). For assistance with Wi-Fi registration, please contact the ITS Help Desk at x4069 or itshelpdesk@fairfield.edu.
Connecting with AirParrot (Windows)
AirParrot is an application that allows you to wirelessly mirror your computer's screen to Fairfield's classroom Apple TVs via AirPlay.
AirParrot is licensed by the Fairfield University ITS Help Desk. You will need to visit or contact the Help Desk (x4069 or itshelpdesk.fairfield.edu) to obtain your personalized license key.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Video button once to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On your computer, open AirParrot from your system tray or Start Menu.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Type the Apple TV’s name in AirParrot’s To field exactly how it is shown on the television. (example: dlc203tv.fairfield.edu)
Choose Connect
Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.
Disconnecting from AirParrot
When you are finished using the Apple TV, it is important to manually disconnect your computer. Properly disconnecting avoids issues for both your computer and other users the next time the Apple TV is used.
Open AirParrot by clicking the AirParrot icon on your System Tray.
In AirParrot, select the Power Button.
Connecting with AirPlay on Mac
These guides show how to connect to and disconnect from an Apple TV using AirPlay on your Mac or iOS device.
Press the on button to the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Video button once to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Open the Control Center in the System Menu and choose Screen Mirroring
Choose the Apple TV, identified in Step 3, on your laptop
Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.

Open the Control Center and select Screen Mirroring
Click on the connected Apple TV to disconnect
Connecting with AirPlay on iPad or iPhone
Press the on button to turn the TV(s) or projector(s) on.
Select the Video button once to set the TV source to Apple TV.
On the projector or TV screen, look for the Apple TV's name under Choose This Apple TV
Open the Control Center in the System Menu and choose Screen Mirroring
on iPads: Place one finger on the top right corner of the iPad, near the battery and Wifi symbols, and swipe down
on iPhone: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone
Choose the Apple TV, identified in Step 3, on your laptop.
If you don't see the Apple TV, use your finger to scroll through the options.Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the television into the Password box.

Open the Control Center and choose Screen Mirroring
on iPads: Place one finger on the top right corner of the iPad, near the battery and Wifi symbols, and swipe down
on iPhone: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone
Tap Stop Mirroring
