Student Computer Network Registration Instructions (ISE)
Note
Computers running distributions of the Linux operating system cannot be registered to the network with this process. Please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance registering your Linux computer.
Network Registration on Windows
Windows Requirements
- The computer must be running Windows 10 and have all /wiki/spaces/ITSKB/pages/30345102.
- Antivirus software must be installed and virus definitions up-to-date.
All university owned computers should have CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor installed as their antivirus.
Non-university owned computers running Windows 10 or newer will have Windows Defender already installed.
Step 1: Connecting to the Network on Windows
- Open Connect to a Network by clicking the network icon in the notification area.
- In the list of networks, select the network and choose Connect.
- Students: Choose STUDENT
- When prompted for Account Name and Password, enter NetID and Password.
- You will be prompted to Continue connecting? Choose Connect.
5. Test your Successful connection by going to fairfield.edu. If the page does not load or nothing occurs, please try restarting your computer
Network Registration on Mac
Mac 11 Requirements
- The computer must be running Mac OS X 10.15 (Catalina) or newer and have security updates installed.
- Antivirus software must be installed and virus definitions up-to-date.
All university owned computers should have CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor installed as their antivirus.
Non-university owned computers can install Avast Antivirus
Step 1: Connecting to the Network on Mac
- Select the Wi-Fi menu icon .
- In the list of networks, select the network. Choose STUDENT
- When prompted for Account Name and Password, enter NetID and Password..
- For the Verify Certificate screen select Continue
5. If you are see the following screen, please enter your Mac username and password and select Update Settings
6.. Test your Successful Registration by going to fairfield.edu. If the page does not load or nothing occurs, please try restarting your computer.
