Locating A Device's MAC Address

A MAC address is a unique 12 character alpha-numeric code made up of letters a-f and numbers 0-9. It follows the format XX.XX.XX.XX.XX.XX

If your device is not listed here, you will need to consult the device manual from the manufacturer's manual to locate the MAC Address.

Windows

  1. Click on Start and open a Command Prompt window by searching for cmd
  2. Run the getmac command
  3. The MAC address will be the one listed that does not have "Media Disconnected" in the right column

macOS

  1. Select the Wireless icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
  2. Select Open Network Preferences...
  3. Select Advanced...
  4. The MAC address will be listed as the Wi-Fi Address

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select About Phone > Status
    OR
    Select About Phone > Hardware Information
  3. The MAC address will be listed as Wi-Fi MAC address

    OR
  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Select Wireless and network > WiFi Settings
  3. The MAC address will be listed under the Advanced section as MAC address

iOS

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Select General then About
  3. The MAC address will be listed as Wi-Fi Address

XBOX ONE

  1. With the XBOX powered on select My games & apps from the dashboard
  2. Select Settings>Network>Advanced Settings
  3. The Xbox’s MAC address will be listed as Wired Mac

PS3

  1. With the PS3 powered on, select “Settings” in the top system menu
  2. Select “Network Settings>Settings and Connection Status List
  3. The MAC address will be listed

PS4

  1. With the PS4 powered on, select “Settings” in the system menu
  2. Select "System
  3. Select “System Information"
  4. The PS4’s MAC address will be listed, and will be 12 characters in the format of: 00:00:00:00:00:00


XBOX 360

  1. With the XBOX powered on, hit the center “Xbox guide” button on your controller
  2. Go to Settings>System Settings>Network Settings>Wired Network>Configure Network>Additional Settings>Advanced Settings
  3. The Xbox’s MAC address will be listed as Wired MAC 

Wii

  1. With your Wii on, click the “Wii options” button in the lower left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Wii Settings>Internet>Console Information
  3. The Wii’s MAC address will be listed as:LAN Adapter MAC Address

Wii U

  1. On the Wii U controller, go to the “Wii U Menu” 
  2. Select System Settings>Internet>View MAC Address>
  3. The Wii’s MAC address will be listed as LAN Adapter MAC Address

Apple TV

  1. From the Main Menu choose Settings>About
  2. Look for the MAC address next to Ethernet ID for the wired network or Wireless ID for the wireless connection. (The MAC address is also printed on the UPC label on the Apple TV box)

Google TV

  1. From Settings, select Network>Status
  2. The MAC address will appear on the screen.

Roku

  1. From the home screen select Settings>About
  2. The MAC address will appear on your screen (The MAC address is also on a label affixed to the bottom or back of the Roku)

Vizio Smart TV

  1. Press the Menu button on the remote and select Network>Manual Setup.
  2. The RJ45 and/or Wireless MAC address will appear on the screen


If your device is not listed here, you will need to consult the device manual from the manufacturer's manual to locate the MAC Address.
