M365 Application upgrade - What you will see Windows and Mac.
For Windows users:
Microsoft Office upgrade to M365 Applications
ITS has deployed an important update for Microsoft Office apps to your computer. Please note that Microsoft has changed the name of “Office 365 Apps” to “Microsoft 365 Apps”.
“Microsoft365Applications” has been made available to you in the Software Center
Software Center is an application on your desktop
If the installation has not started automatically, you may start it by clicking “Install”
If you have any Microsoft Office apps open, a message will be displayed telling you to save your work and close all Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Once you close all Microsoft Office apps, the installation should begin within 5 minutes.
Once the installation is complete you may open your Microsoft applications.
You may be prompted to sign into your Microsoft applications before use. Please enter your full Fairfield email address.
You will then be redirected to Fairfield University SSO where you will login with your netid and password.
Your M365 license is now activated. If you activated M365 in any Office Application other than Outlook, you may need to repeat the process for Outlook.
For Mac users:
Restart your computer to allow Microsoft License Removal Tool to run.
Wait 0-5 minutes after logging in, before opening any Office applications. You may see the following popup indicating the process has been completed, click Dismiss
3.Open your Outlook application and select Purchase Microsoft 365 or Activate Microsoft 365 from the Outlook Menu.
In the following window, please select ‘Already bought…”
In the next window, sign in with your Fairfield University email and click “Next”
In the next window, select “Work or school account”, this will redirect you to the Fairfield University Single Sign On page.
Sign in with your NetID and password.
Your M365 license is now activated. If you activated M365 in any Office Application other than Outlook, you may need to repeat the process for Outlook.
Please remember to update your applications as soon as possible. (*Please note-this initial update may take 15-45 minutes to complete)
You can trigger the Microsoft AutoUpdate window to open by doing either of the following or wait for to Microsoft AutoUpdate to open automatically.
Select “Check for Updates” under the “Help” menu in any Office application
Select “Check for Updates” on the banner at the top of documents in any Office application except Outlook.
Be sure to quit all Office applications prior to selecting the “Update” button in the Microsoft AutoUpdate window
